Rehearsal room update from Oliver Rose, Director of The Boy I Love Is Up In The Gallery

So we’re now two weeks in to The Boy I Love Is Up In the Gallery. As I write Sitembu Goro is working away on the script turning the last two weeks of inspiring, exhausting, hilarious work into a fully rounded script. The cast have gelled magnificently and we’re on course for a totally unique evening of theatre.

She Stoops to Conquer is also going well. I hear from Matthew Evans, the show’s director, that they’ve had a equally productive fortnight. All I can hear from the rehearsal rooms upstairs is music, laughter and the sound of good theatre being made (yes, it does have a specific sound.) The cast are buzzing about the show during breaks as well.

Tickets are now on sale so it would be great if you could make it along to see one or both of the shows. I think they’re going to be a great pair, with some interesting contrasts between the two, not least in the different ways which our amazing designer Amy Cook has come up with us to play with Hoxton Hall’s beautiful theatre. Keep looking back for new updates over the next fortnight before the show opens as cast and crew alike will be blogging about our progress.
